THE POSITION

Are you a caring and responsible team player who enjoys working with children and families? The Cambria County Services for Children and Youth is searching for people like you to join our team as County Social Services Aides. If you want a rewarding career where you can help professional social service staff make a lasting, positive impact in your community, then we have the perfect opportunity for you!

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, you will assist our team's professional social service workers with practical case management needs to ensure that every child we serve has the chance to grow and thrive in a safe, supportive, and permanent home. This includes helping clients with activities of daily living, as well as providing clients with transportation for medical appointments and related services, to foster homes or other facilities, to the office for visitation or drug screenings, and to court hearings, during and outside of normal business hours. Communication skills, compassion, and attention to detail are key as you will also assist with or conduct interviews to gather information that will help us verify each person or family's eligibility for services, observe clients and their families in home maintenance and the care of children, and plan, schedule, conduct, or accompany professional staff on home visits. You will also have the chance to help clients find and connect with housing, community, alternative transportation, or other resources and supportive services to stabilize and enrich their lives.

Additionally, our team will rely on you to meet with workers, advisors, and treatment team members and share your observations of the children and families we serve. This is essential for ensuring that the treatment plans and goals we develop will meet each client's unique needs. If you want a rewarding position that is a great opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of those in need in the community, apply with us today!
