This position is responsible for leading the development and driving successful execution of brand strategies, with a focus on Orthopedics and established products. This individual will primarily be responsible for achieving the US sales objectives and revenue targets for Orthopedics, the market leading hyaluronic acid for OA of the knee. They will lead all commercialization activities for this well-established product competing in a highly competitive and a dynamic buy and bill market. This individual will manage marketing staff responsible for tactical execution and budget optimization. The incumbent will work closely with cross functional team members including sales, market access, medical, commercial operations, compliance and other commercial support functions. Responsibilities will also include management of established, late lifecycle brands where promotional activities are limited but management of distribution is important.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish the marketing strategy and drive development of associated tactics for Orthopedics, with accountability for the planning and development of annual budgets and business plans

  • Develop and leverage KPIs to establish a promotional mix that includes direct promotion and omnichannel strategy campaigns and tactics

  • Engage, monitor and synthesize external marketplace & customer dynamics to guide development and implementation pricing and contracting strategies, led by market access partners.

  • Actively partner with market access team to ensure development and implementation of commercialization strategies that reflect current market dynamics.

  • Engage key internal stakeholders, including medical, legal, compliance, market access and sales operations, to ensure organizational alignment and execution of strategic brand initiatives

  • Actively engage external customer to anticipate market developments and adapt commercialization plans.

  • Drive decision making associated with annual and quarterly forecasts, providing direction on sales estimates, market assumptions and resource needs.

  • Collaborate with analytics teams to forecast product supply needs and work collaboratively with SO&P stakeholders to ensure adequate and uninterrupted supply to meet demand.

  • Work with training to refine product and brand promotional training to support Field Sales Force in optimal execution.

  • Work collaboratively with Medical and HEOR team to shape data generation plans, including real world data (RWD), to enhance brand value proposition across key customer groups, ie HCP, IDN, Group practice administrators etc

  • Drive development of A&P budgets and regularly manage expenses for marketing team initiatives aligned with approved marketing budgets.

  • In collaboration with Finance and the Business Unit, build a multi-year strategic business plan.

  • Coach all direct reports to ensure that they reach their full potential within current role and beyond.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree with major in marketing or related business area.

  • Minimum of 10 years of diverse marketing experience within the biotech or pharmaceutical industry required, including experiences with HCP, Patient and market access marketing.

  • Experience with inline products across multiple stages of product life cycle.

  • Experience with commercialization of products in buy and bill markets mandatory.

  • Minimum of 4 years' experience leading field based and/or home office teams

  • Prior Sales experience for a minimum of 3 years, with a preference for sales leadership experience.

  • Exceptional marketing analytics skills with experience in account level segmentation and strategy.

  • Demonstrated ability to cultivate and aggregate external insights to identify opportunities and implement solutions to drive results

  • Adept at real time problem solving and navigating complex business situations.

  • Proven track record of effectively driving performance through development and execution marketing strategy.

  • Solid financial acumen and experience.

  • Solid understanding of today's rapidly changing US pharmaceutical environment, incl. Market Access, Distribution Clinical, Regulatory, Legal and Compliance required.

Our Compensation and Benefits

At Ferring, base salary is one part of our competitive total compensation and benefits package and is determined using a salary range. The base salary range for this role is $167,678 to $311,402, which is the reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount paid may differ based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, education and primary work location. Additional compensation for this role will be provided based on competitive annual incentive compensation targets in the form of an annual bonus - payouts are based on individual and company performance.

Benefits for this role include comprehensive healthcare (medical, dental, and vision) with a premium differential, inverse to base salary, to be paid by employees, a 401k plan and company match, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, wellness benefits, reimbursement for certain tuition expenses, sick time of 1 hour per 30 hours worked, vacation time for full time employees to accrue up to 120 hours in the first four (4) years of employment, and 160 hours in the fifth (5th) year of employment as well as 12 to 13 paid holidays per year.
