We have an opportunity at our corporate offices in Chicago for a Operations Manager on our Education Center team. This is a hybrid position reporting into our Chicago, IL office, requiring 2 days a week in the office.

This position will Manage the business
operations functions of Education Center to achieve service alignment and
efficiency among all teams. Liaise with cross functional stakeholders to support
strategic planning, operational prioritization, and team building efforts. Key
responsibilities include optimizing content workflows, driving continuous
improvement and tracking progress against goals through robust reporting and
data analysis.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Planning and coordination

  • Oversee all Education Center coordinated unit planning, business process definition and continuous improvement, reporting and evaluation, and supporting change management
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships within Education Center business unit and with key AMA business units
  • Collaborate across the Education Center to align operations with organizational objectives
  • Design and implement operational plans, policies, processes, and procedures that promote efficiency, accuracy, and seamless cross-functional workflows across business units
  • Collaborate across the Education Center to develop operations plans and make recommendations and/or decisions to drive operational efficiencies and business optimization
  • Support business unit team building efforts through assistance in planning for quarterly meetings, leadership retreats and other all-team meetings

Processes and Implementation

  • Develop systems and best practices to enhance seamless and efficient operations of all processes relevant to the smooth planning, development, publication and the evaluation of content onto the Ed Hub Platform
  • Optimize existing workflows and processes for efficiency
  • Identify and integrate new technologies / automated solutions as needed into processes to support monitoring, managing and communication of workflows throughout business unit
  • Provide consultation and training to guide Education Center and Ed Hub teams on processes to be developed or already developed, and implement the same as needed
  • Ensure cross-departmental processes and handoffs are clearly defined, documented and communicated to all relevant stakeholders to support efficient execution and accountability
  • Ensure role clarification for all teams involved in education implementation on the Ed Hub platform and communicates the same for all affected teams / business units
  • Implement continuous improvement processes to enhance service quality, efficiency, high performance and customer satisfaction

Data and Reporting

  • Identify and develop key performance indicators (KPIs) for the Education Center operations function
  • Develop dashboards and other reporting tools to track performance, evaluate progress against goals, and generate insights to inform leadership decision making
  • Conduct analyses, develop insights and deliver reports to leadership which assist in providing guidance to support advancing business unit strategic goals

May include other responsibilities as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Bachelor's Degree required. Prefer advanced course work and/or experience in business administration, health care administration, association management or related field
  2. 5+ years experience in operations management, process improvement or logistics, preferably in a cross-functional or matrixed organizational environment
  3. Ability to design and redesign workflows
  4. Experience in developing KPIs and using enterprise solutions for management and monitoring
  5. Demonstrated ability to work independently on multiple projects simultaneously; ability to effectively manage time, prioritize work, and multi-task across many assignments
  6. Ability to interface effectively with people of varying disciplines, background, and expertise, including senior-level management
  7. Strong written and oral communication skills; decision-making capabilities; strong attention to detail in execution of work tasks
  8. Some travel required

The American Medical Association is located at 330 N. Wabash Avenue, Chicago, IL 60611 and is convenient to all public transportation in Chicago.

This role is an exempt position, and the salary range for this position is $85,680-$113,526.This is the lowest to highest salary we believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's pay within the salary range will be determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to business consideration and geographical location, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
