*About the Role* The City of Tallahassee is seeking a skilled and motivated Server Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is ready to hit the ground running. You'll be part of a collaborative team of six, supporting critical infrastructure and services across the city.
*Key Responsibilities* * Provide hands-on support and maintenance for Dell servers running VMware. * Manage and support Microsoft Outlook and virtual customer environments. * Administer and troubleshoot NetScaler systems. * Assist in documenting IT policies and procedures. * Support a primarily Windows-based environment, with occasional work on Linux servers. * Collaborate with team members to ensure system reliability, performance, and scalability. * Contribute to team leadership and mentoring if prior lead experience is applicable. *Preferred Qualifications* * Proven experience with Windows Server administration. * Strong proficiency in VMware virtualization technologies. * Familiarity with Linux systems (basic support level). * Experience managing Outlook and virtual desktop environments. * Hands-on experience with NetScaler (required). * Exposure to AWS or Azure cloud platforms is a plus (training available if needed). * Excellent documentation and communication skills. * Prior team lead or supervisory experience is a differentiator. *Top Skills* * Windows Server * VMware * Linux * Outlook * NetScaler * Cloud (AWS/Azure - optional but preferred) *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
