Position Responsibilities

We are seeking a strategic and execution-oriented Principal Data Strategist to join our newly formed Data Strategy team, whose mission is to empower employees with trusted, AI-ready data to enable connected customer experiences and accelerate company growth. This role will lead the enterprise-wide effort to define, standardize, and operationalize customer account data definitions and data quality rules across the entire customer journey, supporting a transformative business initiative to optimize lead-to-cash processes.

You will play a critical role in shaping how customer account data is defined, structured, governed, and leveraged across cross-functional teams and systems, ensuring consistency, trust, ease of understanding, and usability of data that fuels business operations, analytics, and AI-driven innovation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of enterprise-wide customer account data standards, including definitions for critical data elements, taxonomies, and hierarchies.
  • Define and operationalize data quality rules and governance frameworks across CRM, ERP, billing, support, and other enterprise systems.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (Marketing and Sales Ops, Services, Support, Customer Success, Finance, Product/Engineering, Legal, IT) to align on data standards and ensure consistent implementation.
  • Drive the operationalization of data governance through metadata management, stewardship programs, and automated data quality monitoring.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on customer account data, advising on architecture, integration, and transformation strategies to enable business outcomes.
  • Collaborate with compliance and governance teams to ensure adherence to data privacy and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain and evolve data lineage documentation to ensure transparency and traceability of customer account data.
  • Champion data literacy, awareness and adoption of standards through training, documentation, and stakeholder engagement.

  • Successfully unify and harmonize the prioritized critical customer account data and processes across CRM, ERP, and other enterprise systems to support a seamless lead-to-cash process.
  • Establish a trusted foundation of AI-ready data that accelerates business decision-making and operational efficiency.
  • Leverage AI technologies and tools to automate data quality monitoring, anomaly detection, and metadata enrichment.
  • Enable connected customer experiences by ensuring consistent and accurate account data across all touchpoints.
  • Deliver measurable improvements in data quality, usability, and trust across the organization.

Qualifications


  • 8-10+ years of experience in data strategy, governance, or enterprise data management, with a strong background in SaaS technology companies.
  • Proven success in leading large-scale data conversions to unify and harmonize account data across CRM, ERP, and other enterprise systems.
  • Deep expertise in customer account data and its role in enterprise systems and business processes.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, metadata management, and data quality frameworks.
  • Experience with tools such as data catalogs, master data management, and BI tools.
  • Excellent communication and influence skills, with the ability to translate complex data concepts into business value.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in information systems, Business, or a related field and experience.

Compensation Information

The U.S. salary range for this position is $81500.00 - $142750.00. This range is subject to change as Deltek takes a number of factors into consideration when determining individual base pay, such as location, job-related knowledge, skills and experience. Certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including incentive compensation and equity.
