This is ahybrid position based out of Feeding America's Chicago office location. At Feeding America, we believe in offering a flexible work environment. Employees can be in the office an average of 2 days a week (when not travelling for work) and work from home on other days. Employees also have access to a 30-day "work anywhere" program during the course of each calendar year that can be combined with PTO and/or holidays.

The Opportunity

The Compensation and Talent Management Analyst will support the operationalization of Feeding America's compensation and talent management programs and policies. The Compensation and Talent Management Analyst conducts data analysis and reporting supporting the development, administration and ongoing review of Feeding America's merit-based compensation philosophy, structure and process and talent management tools, projects and processes. The individual in this role will perform calculations, analyze data, and create visualizations like charts, graphs and presentation content.
Compensation

Here at Feeding America national organization, equality is central to our mission and is an integral part of our compensation policies and structures. As such, we maintain transparent salary ranges and clearly defined practices for how our team, including new hire salary offers, moves through these ranges. You can expect us to offer the best salary up front based on these clearly defined pay practices with little room for negotiation. We make exceptions for highly experienced (multiple years of at-level experience) new hires in accordance with our pay practices. Once hired, employees have the opportunity to progress through salary ranges via regular merit increases and step promotions.

Salary Range: $78,000 - $83,000 Based on Experience.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct data analysis and reporting supporting compensation and talent management processes and projects. This includes providing insights, analysis and reporting supporting key initiatives driven by the talent agenda and annual compensation processes.
  • Collect, compile and validate human resources data from a variety of sources including the human resources information system (HRIS).
  • Perform calculations (i.e., merit increases), analyze data, and create visualizations like charts, graphs and presentation content.
  • In collaboration with the Manager, Benefits and HRIS and the HR Partners, design, develop, and implement recurring and ad-hoc reports that track key data and highlights trends, risks and opportunities across compensation and talent management.
  • Support the Vice President, Talent Management & Compensation and the Director, Talent Management with the design, development and implementation of talent management programs and initiatives such as the annual compensation and talent cycles (i.e., midyear and annual review processes, promotion process).
  • Support the annual administration and ongoing review of Feeding America's merit-based compensation philosophy, structure and process.
  • Design and operationalize talent development support materials, tools, tracking mechanisms (i.e., training attendance) and measures to evaluate the effectiveness of all major talent development programs.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of measures, templates, documentation and tracking tools to support the documentation, tracking and evaluation of compensation and talent management related programs and initiatives.
  • Develop solutions, tools (i.e., Excel calculator) and resources to support the Human Resources team and people managers in the implementation and administration of the annual compensation and talent management processes; co-develop solutions that meet their current and future reporting needs.
  • Manage online tools and resources to support compensation and talent initiatives, such as publishing relevant content on internal sharing site.
  • Manage and support complex, compensation- and talent management-related projects and processes. This includes supporting projects to update necessary alignments or corrections of HR data elements.
  • Manage the job description library and collaborate with designated Human Resource Partner to ensure descriptions are up to date and accurately reflect the work being performed by incumbents.
    Required Experience and Qualifications:
    • 3+ years progressive experience in analyzing and managing data using reporting tools and Excel
    • Experience in employee compensation, talent management or related HR field preferred
    • Demonstrated experience designing data summaries, tools and reporting required
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office platform; Intermediate to Advanced Proficiency in Excel (formula creation, tool creation, pivot tables)
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills required
    • Strong mathematical and analytical skills with the ability to synthesize, interpret and communicate data required
    • Experience with quantitative and/or qualitative data analysis and reporting required
    • Knowledge of human resources-related laws, regulations and best practices preferred
