 Special Education Teacher  Inova Kellar School Fairfax is looking for a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join the team. The Special Education Teacher works within a defined schedule during a 10.5-month academic year. All hours and job duties are applicable to 10.5 months. Special Education Teacher Job Responsibilities: 
 
   
 - Ensures that student progress is measured by written and alternate response modes (i.e. tests, quizzes, homework, class participation, reports and projects). 
 - Ensures that the quality of documentation reflects progress on IEP goals and objectives in a timely, professional and informative manner. 
 - Formulates mutually agreed-upon IEP goals and objectives with clients by utilizing all available resources. 
 - Uses pre-assessment data to develop expectations for students to differentiate instructions and to document learning. 
 - Establishes clear expectations, with student input, for classroom guidelines and procedures early in the school year and enforces them and the school-wide behavior management protocol consistently and fairly.
 
  
 
 
Minimum Qualifications: 
 
   
 - Education: Bachelor's Degree in relevant field
 - Experience: One year of professional experience in a school setting.
 - Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation- Within 3 months
 - Licensure: Within 6 Months "Must hold or be eligible to hold a Collegiate Professional License, or Postgraduate professional license or provisional license with the Department of Education, Commonwealth of Virginia"
