General Summary of Position
Responsible for the daily supervision of Homecare Specialists and Homecare Processors within the Physician Orders department. Oversees the accurate and timely processing, documentation, and input of physician orders and supporting documentation/processes. Ensures productivity, quality, and compliance standards are met, while fostering an environment of teamwork and supporting department and agency goals. Handles day-to-day operational needs, manages schedules and coverage, and provides guidance, development, and performance feedback to staff. Requires flexibility for off-shift, weekend, holiday, on-call, or overtime work per department policy.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards, and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations.
  • Supervises the HomeCare Document Specialists and Processors and sets standards for the conduct of work and for required performance, including initial, mid-year, and year-end reviews, and recommends/initiates disciplinary action, as appropriate.
  • Monitors and reports on team productivity, quality, and timeliness of physician order processing. Ensuring that staff have the appropriate tools, systems access, and training to effectively perform the role.
  • Provide training and coaching to team members to ensure that they are performing in accordance with defined policies and procedures. Also providing development opportunities to foster professional development.
  • Maintains staff calendar and schedules to ensure appropriate coverage at all times. Serves as the timekeeper to keep staff focused on the hourly/daily data entry needs.
  • Will be the first point of escalation for operational issues, questions, and problem resolution within the department.
  • Collaborates with the Sr. Director to establish and monitor departmental goals, process improvements, and efficiency initiatives.
  • Maintains positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring excellent customer service and communication.
  • Ensures compliance with annual organizational training deadlines and other assigned mandatory training.
  • Ensures adherence to agency SPIRIT values and promotes a professional, empathetic work culture.
  • Participates in multidisciplinary meetings, quality and service improvement efforts, and community outreach as a department representative.

    Minimum Qualifications
    Education

    • High School Diploma or GED required or
    • Associate's degree Business Administration, Health Care, General Studies preferred
    • One year of relevant education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.

    Experience

    • 1-2 years Healthcare experience preferred and
    • 2 years supervisory experience required
    • One year of relevant professional-level work experience may be substituted for one year of required education.


    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Excellent organizational skills.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Computer skills including Microsoft Office, Power Point, Excel, Word.
    • Ability to effectively communicate with associates at various levels.

    This position has a hiring range of $28.2 - $47.3
