Position Overview

This position requires a self-motivated individual willing to work safely in a team-based system. They need to have the ability to schedule their work, prioritize their workload, and complete tasks in a timely manner. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must. A desire for continuous improvement and quality workmanship are required to meet our customers increasing demands. This position will involve processing orders through the Flexo machine. Overtime including weekends may be available.


Responsibilities

Works safely and follows all related policies and programs to assure a safe working environment. Responsible for correct reporting of time, production and material usage. Set up of the machine including preparing materials. Using a computer, enter information relating to the production run including job information, measurements etc. Reports irregularities, maintenance needs and quality problems to the Team Operations Manager. Assists crew in running, changing over, starting up and cleaning up the machine. Checks raw materials on hand against what is needed for each production run to ensure shortages are prevented. Using a ruler, verify dimensions on material to ensure a quality product. Troubleshoots machine issues and make recommendations on improving the process. Keeps work area clean and orderly. Other job tasks and projects as assigned.


Qualifications

High school graduate or equivalent. 0-1 year in a production environment, preferably in a corrugated box plant. Must have basic computer skills Able to communicate with team members. The qualifications for the above-mentioned job title are the ability to meet the requirements of the job with or without accommodation. The ability to foster and cultivate a positive attitude and work environment The ability to read, write and speak English The ability to accurately read a measuring tape and ruler; the ability to use basic shop math; The ability to learn; and the ability to follow instructions, ask questions, and work effectively as a member of a team
