POSITION SUMMARY: The Data Engineer Intern will partner with the Data Engineer and use business analytics and data engineering to maintain scalable databases and enhance documentation. This internship will provide support in improving and refactoring existing data ingestion through testing and automation projects. This role will support software projects across the organization by enabling high-quality, well-structured data models and warehouse solutions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:



  • Documents and maps data elements, calculations, and requirements for Power BI reports; reviews with Data Engineering for accuracy.
  • Ingests and automates data from existing pipelines into Snowflake, including notifications for new data.
  • Formats, organizes, and validates data, including historical data, ensuring quality and consistency.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to define business use cases and data needs.
  • Analyzes and documents entity relationships; create ERDs for SQL Server databases.
  • Refactors and improves data ingestion services, enhances documentation, and addresses low-priority bugs.
  • Applies data governance, security, and compliance best practices.


QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Pursing a degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • Ability to accept delegated assignments, work with moderate independence.
  • Must have time management skills to handle multiple projects on short deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
