Summary: Seeking a professional with pipeline industry experience. Candidate should have knowledge of reading and understanding Pipeline alignment sheets, Metering & Regulating Stations, Compressor Stations, Pipeline stationing, pipe/fitting specifications and historical construction information.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Help with quality control of As-Built data and drawings by reviewing project data included in the As-built Completion Package against work performed by Company employees and/or third-party contractors. Ensures that as-built project drawings have been edited for accuracy, completeness, content and compliance with accepted drawing standards and format.

* Prepares preliminary migration of As-Built data into Drawings utilizing company approved applications such as AutoCAD, Cad Works and MicroStation.

* Compiles and prepares preliminary edits of As-Built project drawings in an accurate and timely manner utilizing Company standards and formats.

* Attends design conferences and make field trips concerning projects. Assists Senior or Lead with project planning and assists field personnel with field projects including but not limited to research, drawings, document retrieval and prioritizing projects. May be required on occasion to assist in training of programs utilized within our department, such as Pangea.

* Prepares drawings for input into optical storage database for company wide use, updating of Valve Location Maps (for use by Crisis Control Center) and Safety Maps used by field teams.

Requirements: Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

* Minimum 2-5 years' experience in gas transmission or related field, with As Built or new construction project experience.

* Experience in Raster manipulation using Cad Overlay or Raster Design and file storage systems.

* Experience in working topographic maps and an understanding of Township and Range, Sections lines and right of way boundaries.

* Experience compiling and editing pipeline material list.

* Possess familiarity with coordinate systems, such as UTM zones, NAD83, etc., and the ability to incorporate aerial photography within cad drawings.

* Experience in working with data/databases, pipeline historical documents such as alignments, plats, location maps and construction notes (field books, re-chain).

* Experience working with pipeline materials, including Centerline stationing and proficiency in performing calculations for equations.

* Familiarity with survey techniques is considered beneficial.

* Must possess excellent research skills.

* Must be a flexible team player capable of working in a results-oriented environment. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously, able to work with others in a collaborative manner striving to maintain good working relationships with field and office personnel.

Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:

  • The Drafter level requires 0-2 years of relevant job-related experience
  • The Senior Drafter level requires 2-5 years of relevant job-related experience
  • The Lead Drafter level requires 5-8 years of relevant job-related experience

Working Conditions: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

1. Usually, normal office working conditions.

2. Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.

3. Occasional overnight travel may be required.

4. Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings which may include hazardous materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
