Job Overview

About the Role

As an Equipment Finance Intern, you will support the Equipment Finance Division in delivering innovative finance solutions for a variety of equipment finance solutions to small and medium-sized businesses. This internship provides a valuable opportunity to gain insights into sales support, comprehensive equipment finance processes and workflows, and customer relationship management within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The position is an in-person internship, requiring 10-15 hours in the fall at our Michigan City, Indiana location and will conclude at the end of December 2025


Duties

  • Conduct outbound calls to potential clients to introduce our services, gather information, and set up appointments for the sales team.
  • Process and enter credit applications, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete and compliant with company policies.
  • Assist the sales team in preparing presentations, proposals, and client communications to support the sales process.
  • Perform all work in compliance with established regulations, policies, and instructions.
  • Complete required training associated with job function.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications & Skills

What We're Looking For



  • Currently pursuing a degree in business, economics, finance, sales or marketing.
  • Must be a junior or senior at the start of the internship.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce or other CRM platforms is a plus but not required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other data tools.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Physical Requirements

Represent the Bank to both internal and external customers in a courteous, professional manner in face-to-face, written and telephone communications. Accountable for adherence to compliance standards including Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), quality of documentation, timeliness and the ability to exercise prudent judgment for solutions from unexpected situations that arise. Actively protect confidentiality of customer and account information. Demonstrate Horizon Bank's commitment to the communities we serve through involvement in local organizations and events.
