A Wafer Fabrication Technician is responsible for operating and maintaining equipment used in the semiconductor manufacturing process, ensuring quality and efficiency in wafer production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Equipment Operation: Set up and operate sophisticated machinery used in the fabrication of semiconductor wafers, including processes like deposition, etching, and photolithography.
  • Quality Control: Inspect processed wafers for defects or deviations from quality standards using specialized tools and software.
  • Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance and minor repairs on fabrication equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed records of production processes, including process parameters and results, to comply with quality assurance standards.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with quality assurance teams and other technicians to implement improvements in wafer processing to enhance yield and quality.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations within the fabrication facility.


Qualifications

  • Education: Associate degree in a related field such as microelectronics, chemical engineering, or materials science. A bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with semiconductor processing techniques or wet chemical processes is essential.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot equipment issues and optimize production workflows.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a team environment, as collaboration is crucial in the fabrication process.
