The Awards and Rankings Manager contributes to the efforts of the firm's Communications team, which is part of the wider Marketing and Business Development Department. The individual's primary responsibility is to raise the profile of the law firm and its lawyers through participation in surveys and awards. This hybrid-working position can be based in Austin, Dallas, Houston or San Antonio and will report to the firm's Global Head and Director, Public Relations and Communications.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Help the firm to maintain its positive public image while improving visibility for key practice groups, individual lawyers and firm initiatives.
  • Coordinate the firm's participation in industry-specific, workplace-focused and regional surveys annually, working with firm management and other firm personnel to provide responses.
  • Lead coordination of internal employee engagement survey, including overseeing data analysis and reporting insights to leadership.
  • Develop compelling nominations for award opportunities for the overall firm, practice groups, individual lawyers and clients.
  • Facilitate engaging internal interviews with nominees to inform submissions.
  • Monitor the editorial calendars of varied regional, legal and trade publications for awards, maintaining a comprehensive list and schedule of these opportunities.
  • Provide insightful and strategic recommendations regarding the firm's participation in surveys and awards.
  • Prepare lawyers for interviews with awards and surveys researchers and editors.
  • Promote directory and award successes on the firm's website, social media channels, lawyer CVs and in related marketing materials by drafting web stories and other announcements.
  • Manage the research schedule for key legal directories, working closely with business development personnel to meet important deadlines.
  • Track and store submissions and provide training and guidance.
  • Manage and contribute to a variety of marketing and communications projects.
  • Assist the US Director and Global Head of PR and Communications with strategic planning.

Qualifications and experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in public relations, communications, journalism or related field.
  • Experienced professional with a minimum of 7-10 years in public relations or corporate communications-related field.
  • Extensive experience in writing and editing for an external audience with proven history of producing clean, accurate and compelling copy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the highest standards of English, grammar and style.
  • Proven ability to interface effectively with all levels of personnel and engage with teams to drive performance.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment against tight deadlines.
  • Superior organizational skills and the ability to successfully manage multiple high-priority tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
