Chemical Strip Operator Duties



  • Performs tank maintenance, submits samples to the lab, makes the necessary adds
  • Wears required PPE, at a minimum, face shield, safety glasses, chemical smock or apron, gloves rubber and cut resistant, steel toe shoes, respirator if desired and can pass test.
  • Maintains logbooks
  • Wax or wax inject parts
  • Grit blast
  • Heat tint
  • Strip inspection


  • Documents shop travelers
  • Minor equipment maintenance
  • Maintains production standards and quality requirements


  • Adheres to the corporate code of conduct
  • Compliance to IPM/QPM and ISO standards
  • Identifies need for and performs machine maintenance and minor repairs.
  • Maintains a safe and clean workstation.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.


Qualifications



  • Previous light/medium industrial experience
  • Ability to accurately read and interpret blueprints
  • Ability to read, interpret and understand work in-process documents
  • Basic computer knowledge required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated with a high level of ownership and accountability
  • Provides accurate feedback to the department supervisor pertaining to quality issues
  • Lean skills continually drives process improvements
  • Team building skills
  • Must be fluent in English, i.e. speaking, reading, writing


Education



  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Chemical handling experience required

If this position requires access to export-controlled technology and technical data, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations and or the International Traffic in Arms Regulations, any offer of employment is contingent upon Chromalloy's determination, in its sole discretion, if any additional authorization for the employee to access such technology is required and obtainable in a manner that meets its immediate business needs prior to beginning work.
