Description

We are hiring aMaterialsProject Consultantto provide technical direction to our PMO team and plant Materials Management teams. This is a high-impact opportunity to guide the Material Management portion of important strategic projects around the globe and influence plant-level execution. Who You Are:

  • You are a seasoned professional, able to work independently, have highly developed problem-solving skills and a passion for excellence. You thrive when change is the only constant. You are able to develop/understand/implement strategic plans, make decisions, prioritize many tasks, deal effectively with problems and conflicts, negotiate to solutions, and handle high pressure situations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or business-related field, or military equivalent experience.
  • General knowledge and experience using SAP.
  • 7 years of experience within an operations role at Steelcase.
  • High degree of interpersonal and written/verbal English communication skills required to work with all levels of management and communicate effectively to multiple levels in all global locations.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Advanced degree in APICS or similar certification
  • Expert level knowledge and application of principles, theories and concepts related to material flow, inventory management and warehouse management.
  • Proficient in software programs such as Smartsheet, Tableau and the suite of products within Microsoft Office.
  • Experienced project manager or as a member of a cross functional project team.
  • Deep understanding of ERP systems and the materials planning processes.
  • Strong continuous improvement background such as Lean principles.
  • Global cultural awareness and diplomacy
  • Spanish languageproficiencyis a plus

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Provide guidance to multi-disciplined project teams, executing strategic NDA global projects.
  • Act as the liaison between the project team and manufacturing plants.
  • Track large inventory adjustments.
