Infrastructure Cloud Management Lead

Location: Bethesda, MD (Onsite with some Hybrid flexibility)

Job Overview: The Infrastructure Cloud Management Lead is responsible for overseeing Client's hybrid IT infrastructure, including on-premises and cloud-based systems, to ensure high availability, resilience, and compliance with federal standards. The Lead will manage enterprise servers, storage, virtualization platforms, and network appliances across Windows, Linux, and macOS environments, with responsibility for COOP and Disaster Recovery planning, configuration management, and system optimization.

The successful candidate will combine technical expertise, leadership, and federal IT program experience to direct staff, manage infrastructure projects, and provide strategic consultation to Client IT leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure & Cloud Management



  • Oversee day-to-day operations, optimization, and maintenance of on-premises and cloud infrastructure (servers, VMs, SAN/NAS, and network appliances).
  • Ensure consistent monitoring, patching, and performance management across Windows, Linux, and Mac platforms.
  • Implement and maintain Client cloud technologies including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS solutions in alignment with NIH requirements.
  • Plan and execute COOP and DR strategies, ensuring infrastructure resilience and rapid recovery.


Configuration & Backup Management



  • Record and archive daily device configurations within a Network Configuration Manager for compliance and recovery.
  • Oversee infrastructure backup operations using Cohesity and related technologies, ensuring scheduled and ad-hoc snapshots are available for rapid restoration.
  • Maintain baseline configurations and ensure compliance with FISMA and FIPS-199 standards.


Documentation & Compliance



  • Maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), system runbooks, and architecture diagrams, ensuring accessibility and audit readiness.
  • Refresh and update System Security Plans (SSPs) quarterly to support audits and maintain Authority to Operate (ATO).
  • Provide technical and financial reports to Client leadership and contracting stakeholders.


Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement



  • Supervise infrastructure support staff, assign responsibilities, and ensure successful project completion.
  • Consult with stakeholders, including OIT, CO, COR, and federal leadership, to align infrastructure strategy with mission needs.
  • Provide support to proposal and business development activities, identifying process improvements and innovative service enhancements.


Requirements



  • 6-13 years of experience managing IT infrastructure, with technical and leadership responsibilities.
  • 8+ years of experience planning, supporting, and building infrastructure to support COOP and Disaster Recovery (DR).
  • Proven ability to manage and complete complex technical projects on time, on budget, and within defined scope.
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise servers, storage, virtualization, and cloud integration.
  • Bachelor's Degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Active PMP certification required.
  • 14 years of directly relevant experience may substitute for a degree.
  • Related industry certifications (Cisco, CompTIA, Dell, AWS, Microsoft, etc.) are preferred.
  • Hands-on project management experience with Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud technologies (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project or Smartsheet for IT project scheduling.
  • Familiarity with technology product management concepts (outside-in approaches, product lifecycle alignment, solution-oriented focus).
  • Intermediate to expert skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio.
  • Prior federal or state government IT project management experience.
  • Knowledge of Capital Planning and Investment Control (CPIC).
  • Experience working in matrixed organizations with diverse stakeholders.


Compensation and Benefits

The projected compensation range for this position is $100,000 to $200,000 per year benchmarked in the Washington DC Metro area. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Salary at LCG is determined by various factors, including but not limited to role, location, the combination of education/training, knowledge, skills, competencies, certifications, and work experience.
