We are currently searching for a talented Sr. Project Material Management Analyst at Kaman Precision Products in Middletown, CT, to be a key part of our outstanding Quality and Purchasing team. The Sr Project Material Mgmt Analyst will work under direction of the Materials Management team with a minimum of supervision. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:



Work under the direction of the Manager, Materials or designee with a minimum of supervision. Is responsible for the coordination of planning and control activities for a major or highly technical manufacturing program. Is knowledgeable in master scheduling and/or capacity planning techniques related to level loading, resource utilization, and detailed requirements planning processes. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:



Provide technical direction to functional support groups such as Purchasing, Manufacturing Engineering, Contracts, Finance, etc. in their analysis of data related to lead-times, scheduling, inventory and procurement of parts and materials. Coordinate with Engineering, Purchasing and other groups to resolve problems and make special arrangement for unusual situations in order to meet program schedules and goals. Is able to proactively identify and resolve problems/issues.



Analyze and interpret complex or unusual engineering orders and changes, drawings for new/advanced methods, techniques or materials; make recommendations to avoid problems or eliminate difficulties. Analyze demand and supply balance and determine out of balance conditions. Identify alternatives and recommend/take corrective action. Create and maintain a valid material schedule and process; communicate priorities through the manufacturing schedule, supplier schedule and other mechanisms. Provide scheduling for engineering changes.



Represent the materials function at various meetings to report on the status of programs and participate in plans pertaining to new programs. Ensure all planning parameters are accurate, current and continuously adjusted to support cellular manufacturing processes. Maintain inventory transaction accuracy and keep inventory levels balanced to demand. Monitor and coordinate accurate manufactured and procurement lead-times. Release and procure appropriate lot and batch quantities based on JIT principles while satisfying program cost objectives. Manage level loading of manufactured and procured parts. Utilize capacity planning system constraint management tools to resolve over/under capacity conditions.



Requirements:


Broad knowledge of a general technical field such as manufacturing, procurement, materials planning. Requires understanding and use of MRP systems/manufacturing processes. Good oral and written communications skills and working knowledge of PC-based word processing, spreadsheet and database application software. Bachelor's degree or equivalent educational experience (e.g. certs, CEUs, etc.). 5 to 7 years of related experience.
