The Opportunity with McKinstry

The Senior Business Analyst will play a key role in leading the requirements gathering, analysis, and stakeholder alignment for the deployment of a new software application. This role bridges business needs with technical solutions, ensuring the application is successfully implemented, meets organizational objectives, and delivers measurable value. The Senior Business Analyst will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, project managers, solution architects, developers, testers, and change management teams throughout the software deployment lifecycle. The Senior Business Analyst will lead and provide guidance to other business analysts regarding best practices and methods.

Key Responsibilities

Business & Requirements Analysis

  • Lead discovery sessions with stakeholders to understand business processes, pain points, and opportunities.
  • Gather, document, and validate detailed business and functional requirements.
  • Translate business needs into clear user stories, use cases, workflows, and acceptance criteria.
  • Ensure alignment of requirements with strategic goals and regulatory/compliance needs.

Software Deployment Support

  • Assist in planning and executing user acceptance testing (UAT), including test case development and defect triage.
  • Partner with technical teams to validate solution design and ensure requirements are technically feasible and integrations are supported.
  • Support configuration, customization, and integration of the software application.
  • Conduct gap analysis between existing processes/systems and the new application capabilities.
  • Participate in data migration planning, mapping, and validation.

Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and IT teams.
  • Facilitate workshops, presentations, and decision-making sessions.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure clear communication of project scope, timelines, and impacts.

Change Management & Training

  • Support development of training materials, user guides, and process documentation.
  • Provide input to change management strategies to drive user adoption.
  • Help ensure smooth transition from project to operational support.

Project Leadership

  • Provide thought leadership and domain expertise to improve project delivery outcomes.

  • Track and report on requirement progress, risks, and dependencies.

  • Coach/mentor other business analysts on the team.

What You Need to Be Successful at McKinstry

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • 7+ years of business analysis experience, with at least 3 years in senior/lead roles.
  • Proven experience in software application deployment, preferably enterprise-level (ERP, CRM, HRIS, or similar).
  • Strong knowledge of Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Experience with process modeling, requirements management tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, JIRA, Confluence, Visio, Lucidchart).
  • Preferred experience in the construction or manufacturing environment and/or project based financial tracking (e.g., Procore and D365)

The pay range for this position is $99,270 - $169,900 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
