The Process Automation and Data Engineering (PADE) team within the Engineering and Reliability department is looking for an Automation Services Supervisor. You will join our team of automation engineering specialists who support the control systems for Enbridge's GTM facilities.

This team focuses on delivering engineering and support services to the gas transmission and midstream operational organization. You will be part of a dynamic team delivering critical services,Working in the Operational Technology space you will participate in engineering governance that includes day-to-day support for field operations, along with contributions to specifications, standards, operating procedures, project design reviews, and OT architectural improvements. Here's what you will do:

  • Be part of a dynamic PADE leadership team that includes automation engineering, OT data engineering and automation services.

  • Supervise a team of Automation Engineering specialists providing subject matter expertise to client functional groups in Operations, Projects, Reliability, TIS, and Regulatory.

  • As the primary liaison you will facilitate and participate in design reviews, incident and failure analysis, risk analysis, and process hazard assessment on behalf of the PADE team.

  • Assist with engineering standardization through the authoring and maintenance of engineering standards, specifications, and procedures.

  • Maintain knowledge of codes, regulations, and company engineering requirements, and ensure adherence and consistent application within Enbridge.

  • Function as a key escalation point for complex technical problems and systemic issues.

  • Identify technical issues, risks, and value adding opportunities.

Who you are:

  • You have:

    • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a combination of applicable technical accreditations.

    • Minimum 7 years post-degree engineering experience in an Automation-related field.

    • Ability to develop collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders

    • Prior experience developing and leading people

    • Demonstrated experience in leading and managing complex projects that are strategic in nature.

    • Demonstrated proficiency working with office computer applications such as Microsoft Office products (i.e., Teams, Word, PowerPoint, Project, SharePoint, and Excel).

    • Broad technical knowledge related to process control.

    • Ability to provide guidance and development for junior roles within the automation teams.

  • The following are considered assets:

    • University degree in Automation, Controls or Electrical Engineering is preferred.

    • Experience with process control of pipelines, including gas compressor, meter station, storage, and isolation facilities.

    • Previous experience in a Field Operations role is considered an asset.

    • Demonstrated ability to effectively organize and prioritize work in a timely manner.

Working Conditions:

  • Work performed primarily in the office (hybrid work environment).

  • Travel approximately 10% of the time.

  • Holiday and overtime work as necessary may be required.

  • Numerous, often competing interests must be managed concurrently whilst negotiating/influencing within and outside the organization

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

Grasping, kneeling, light - moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.
