As a Security Officer - Government Site in Norfolk, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government and more .

As a Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will monitor and patrol designated areas to help maintain a secure environment for the community. Your presence and regular patrols will help to deter potential security-related incidents, while your commitment to outstanding customer service and clear communication will contribute to a positive atmosphere for everyone on site. In this unarmed role, you will interact with staff and visitors, provide guidance when needed, and respond promptly to any security-related concerns. Pay Rate: $15.20 / Hour

Job Schedule:

What You'll Do:

Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and following site-specific policies, as well as responding appropriately to emergency situations.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
• Maintain detailed and accurate records of activities, observations, and incidents as required by site procedures.
• Communicate and collaborate with Allied Universal team members and site personnel to support a secure environment.
• Assist with access control by monitoring entry and exit points to help to deter unauthorized access to the location.
• Remain alert and attentive to surroundings, reporting any irregularities or concerns to the appropriate personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

• A Guard Card is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
