As a Security Guard - Utilities Patrols in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities and more .

As a Security Officer with Allied Universal at a major utilities location, you will play a crucial role in access control operations. Your responsibilities will include monitoring entry and exit points, verifying credentials, and helping to deter unauthorized access to the premises. You will conduct routine patrols throughout assigned areas, remain visible to help deter security-related incidents, and deliver outstanding customer service to all visitors and staff. This role is ideal for individuals who are attentive, reliable, and comfortable using technology such as computers or tablets. Pay Rate: $18.30 / Hour

Job Schedule:

What You'll Do:

Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service by following security-related procedures and site-specific policies, including emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Monitor and control access to the location, verifying credentials and authorizations for entry and exit.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner to support a secure environment.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
• Document and report any security-related incidents, observations, or irregularities according to company and client protocols.
• Communicate professionally with visitors, employees, and/or contractors while upholding Allied Universal standards.
• Support the enforcement of company and client policies related to access control and security-related matters at the location.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• A guard card or security-related license is preferred.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
