At HDR, our employee-owners are fully engaged in creating a welcoming environment where each of us is valued and respected, a place where everyone is empowered to bring their authentic selves and novel ideas to work every day. Each and every role throughout our organization makes a difference in our ability to change the world for the better. Read further to learn how you could help make great things possible not only in your community, but around the world.

As a part of the Learning Design Team, you'll play a critical role helping to keep our existing trainings and materials up-to-date, accurate, accessible, and on-brand.

What you'll do

  • Content updates (Adobe Creative Cloud): swap/resize images, fix contrast, adjust icons/typography, export web-ready assets for courses and documents.
  • Content updates (eLearnings): update eLearning courses after Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) review-graphic swaps, content/copy edits, sequencing for clarity, light design elevation, fixing interactions/triggers/variables, identifying and re-establishing broken links, updating narration and captions.
  • Media edits: trim/re-export clips in Premiere Pro or Camtasia; clean up audio in Audition; fix or re-time captions.
  • Slide & document maintenance: apply brand templates in PowerPoint, replace images/icons, and export accessible PDFs.
  • Apply brand & accessibility basics everywhere: color/contrast, alt text, clear hierarchy, readable type, document reading order, table headers, keyboard path spot-checks (we'll train you).
  • Improve tagging for searchability: add/edit keywords, topics, audience, modality, and short descriptions on course pages so content is easy to find in the LMS.
  • Publish support: reversion courses to the LMS.
  • File hygiene: keep source files, exports, and naming tidy following Information Lifecycle Governance (ILG) and Learning and Organizational Development (LOD) standards.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design or closely related field.

  • Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator & InDesign; Premiere Pro for basic edits; Acrobat for basic PDF checks).
  • Team-first collaborator, the ability to communicate with clarity and kindness, take feedback, own mistakes, and treat teammates and partners with respect.
  • Detail oriented with a good eye for layout, spacing, and typography; comfort following a brand guide.
  • Basic comfort identifying and adding tags/keywords and using consistent naming, so content is searchable.
  • Self-directed & proactive: manage your own queue, set realistic deadlines, communicate status, and move work forward with minimal supervision; know when to decide, when to ask, and when to escalate.
  • Problem-sensing & judgment: able to spot issues outside the checklist (e.g., confusing UX, off-brand elements, broken links, tracking anomalies, caption/alt-text gaps) and decide when to apply a safe fix vs. escalate to a designer/manager.

  • Articulate Storyline and/or Rise.
  • Basics of WCAG 2.1 AA (alt text, contrast, focus order).
  • Light HTML/CSS and/or JavaScript familiarity.
