Job Profile Summary
Directs the day to day operations of Children's Hospital and Women's Inpatient Services in the provision of nursing care to patients and their families. Directs the activities of patient care and support staff and provides consultation and assistance in communication with the entire range of the served patient population. Serves as a liaison for the provision of care for pediatric patients in the Perioperative Environment and Emergency Department. Responsibilities include effective resource utilization, program and policy development, implementation and evaluation. As a member of the nursing leadership team, the individual demonstrates clinical expertise and will be involved in continuous quality improvement, customer service, resource and financial management, efficient and effective system processes and professional development. These roles are responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients admitted to the hospital. Inpatient RNs monitor patient conditions, administer medications, assist in treatments, and collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure high-quality care in various hospital units.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing from accredited nursing program, Master's degree in related field within 4 years of hire. Experience: 5 or more years of progressive leadership experience, required. Licensure: Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia. PHYSICAL DEMANDS This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
