| Purpose of Position |  
      
        The systems analyst reports to the Executive Director of the Kentucky Center for Mathematics and has primary responsibility for the development and deployment of technology systems in support of the KCM's mission to improve the teaching and learning of mathematics throughout Kentucky. The position provides leadership for innovation, planning, consultation, development, and attainment of a system of technological resources.
         
         In addition, this position oversees the implementation of the system of IT resources to support the work and success of the Center. The position develops and maintains web-based interactive applications, produces the 
        KCM website and resource web pages, and acquires computer and audio-visual hardware and third-party computer applications. The position administers the system of technological tools; including hardware and software, and provides end-user support.  |  
     
 
      
      | Primary Responsibilities |  
      
        Work with the Center staff to design, develop, enhance and maintain a system of interactive, computer-based tools to be used by teachers and students in the teaching and learning of mathematics concepts. Currently existing systems include the Kentucky Numeracy Project and Fluency Assessments applications, as well as virtual manipulatives for student use.
         
         Collaborate with the Center staff to develop and improve Center processes through the use of technology. Select or develop computer-based tools that support 
        KCM work activities. Interact with vendors on the implementation, enhancement and maintenance of their products. Third party applications currently include the Vieth Membership and Event Management System, Sibme, and an event app for the 
        KCM Conference. 
        KCM-developed applications include Abacus and 
        KCM Tools.
         
         Design, develop, and maintain the 
        KCM website. Monitor and report on website usage statistics. Identify and implement strategies to increase traffic to the 
        KCM website. Create and maintain mini-websites for projects and trainings. Current sites include the main 
        KCM website, the 
        KCM conference website, the KyMTL website, the 
        KAMTE website, the 
        KCM Numeracy Counts Academy website, the Kentucky Family Math website, and the Math Fact Fluency website.
         
         Provide technical support and assistance for the 
        KCM community members located throughout the state. Develop support materials. Troubleshoot issues. Administer user accounts. Communicate with users via email, phone and video conference. The KCM's system of supported technologies include the above-mentioned applications and software and hardware tools developed and deployed by the Center.
         
         Hire and on-board student developers. Define and direct their work processes. Supervise their work to develop and maintain KCM's web-based applications and website resources.
         
         Work with 
        NKU IT to set up, administer, and manage the 
        KCM web servers, residing on 
        NKU servers.
         
         Procure and maintain KCM's technology assets (e.g. computers, peripherals, projectors, cameras, etc.). Verify and update KCM's technology inventories.
         
         Define the architecture of the 
        KCM-built application environment. Evaluate, select, implement, and maintain the technologies and tools to use, taking into consideration cost, performance, efficiency, and reliability as well as the impact on the new student worker learning curve.  |
