Position Overview
  :
   
  We are seeking a detail-oriented Quoter / Estimator to prepare accurate and competitive quotes for projects 
  specifically for 
  plastic injection 
  molds, and precision components. The ideal candidate will combine technical knowledge, analytical skills, and strong communication abilities to provide reliable cost estimates, support sales, and collaborate closely with engineering, production, and management teams. 
Key Responsibilities: 
Quotation Preparation: 
 
  - Review engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements to prepare accurate quotes
 - Analyze materials, labor, machine time, and overhead costs to determine project pricing
 - Identify potential production challenges and suggest design or process improvements to optimize cost and feasibility
 - Ensure quotes are competitive, accurate, and aligned with company policies and profit goals
 
  
 
 Collaboration: 
 
  - Work closely with engineers, designers, and production staff to understand project scope and manufacturing requirements
 - Communicate effectively with customers to clarify specifications, answer technical questions, and provide guidance on pricing and lead times
 - Participate in internal project review meetings to ensure alignment between quoting, production, and customer expectations
 
  
 
 Documentation & Reporting: 
 
  - Maintain detailed records of quotes, revisions, and historical pricing data
 - Track and report on quote success rates, margins, and project feedback to support continuous improvement
 - Assist with proposals for complex or multi-part projects
 - Ensure all documentation adheres to company standards and compliance requirements
 
  
 
 Qualifications: 
 
  - Minimum of 2+ years of experience in quoting or estimating in a tool and die, mold, or manufacturing environment
 - CAD skills required preferably SolidWorks
 - Strong understanding of machining processes, materials, tooling, and labor requirements
 - Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications
 - Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
 - Strong communication skills for interacting with customers and internal teams
 - Proficiency with quoting/ERP software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
 
  
 
 
 Physical Requirements: 
 
  - Primarily an office-based position with occasional shop floor walkthroughs
 - Ability to stand, walk, and bend occasionally while reviewing parts or setups
 - Frequent use of hands, fingers, and arms to operate computers, calculators, and measuring instruments
 - Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when on the shop floor
 
  
 
 Work Environment: 
 
  - Combination of office environment and shop floor exposure
 - Moderate noise and activity levels when visiting production areas
 - Collaborative, fast-paced setting with a focus on accuracy, customer satisfaction, and teamwork
