Medica's Technical Writer works to document processes, job aids and other specifications that support a range of work functions, new initiatives, decision-making, and regulatory requirements. Performs other duties as assigned.


Key Accountabilities



  • Write transactional and informational documents for Operations staff to do their jobs efficiently and accurately
  • Adhere to determined documentation style guide, standards, and templates and obtain appropriate approvals
  • Use Information Mapping to organize information so it is easy for end users to follow
  • Write in a concise and active voice
  • Work closely and in collaboration with business subject matter experts (SMEs) to document existing business processes into Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Participate in documentation workgroups to document SOPs for new or updated processes
  • Question gaps in procedures and processes on behalf of end users
  • Follow up on open questions, schedule meetings as needed. Keep business partners informed of the status of their requests and meet requested due dates
  • Post documents in appropriate location for accessibility
  • Run productivity and status reports and effectively summarize



Required Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • 3+ years of related work experience



Preferred Qualifications



  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Experience and aptitude in writing business documentation for end users
  • Technical aptitude to understand new software or changes in existing software
  • Ability to effectively manage and prioritize workload with minimal supervision
  • Manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work with all levels within Operations
  • Skilled at Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)

This position is an Office role, which requires an employee to work onsite, on average, 3 days per week. We are open to candidates located near one of the following office locations: Minnetonka, MN or Madison, WI.

The full salary grade for this position is $49,800 - $85,300. While the full salary grade is provided, the typical hiring salary range for this role is expected to be between $49,800 - $74,655. Annual salary range placement will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, education, work experience, applicable certifications and/or licensure, the position's scope and responsibility, internal pay equity and external market salary data.
