The Opportunity

EHSS is the number one priority at Primient. It is one of our core values and influences every business decision we make. Primient has made a lot of progress from previous years in development of cultural maturity and EHSS programs.

The CEE will primarily provide support to all Primient sites and Corporate EHSS team to ensure sustainable compliance with environmental laws applicable to Primient. The CEE will be aware of and prepare the site for changing environmental laws, validate compliance, provide guidance to strengthen local compliance assurance systems, support permitting actions and government communications, and develop local awareness & environmental risk control to continuously minimize the impact of our operations on the environmental and the communities where we operate.

Accountabilities

  • Responsible for Environmental compliance support activities under direction of the Corporate Environmental Manager to ensure the safe operation of our facilities, equipment to prevent harm to health, safety, the environment

  • Provide support to enable, and empower our employees and contractors to ensure everyone is engaged in development of our Environmental programs and compliance obligations

  • Develop, promote, and provide active support for the Environmental Management System, through demonstratable best practice sharing, support, and domain expertise in the Environmental field

  • As a domain expert, understand Environmental Risks as they pertain to Control Systems, our activities, services, and products throughout their respective lifecycle (internally and externally), providing resource and advise to mitigate those risks

  • Support generation, development, and communication of performance progress against defined Goals/Objectives to Corporate EHSS Team and beyond, where applicable

  • Building relationships of trust, to allow cultural growth and development across the organization, educational knowledge sharing, and empowerment are all key attributes to the success of the role

  • Being well versed on Environmental performance models, control systems, cycles and development of Environmental programs will aid in creating tactical advantages for the role

Main accountabilities

  • Deliver comprehensive knowledge and expertise across all Environmental processes to ensure regulatory compliance

  • Advise and implement compliance tools across business (local and enterprise level), as required

  • Provide frequent updates on Environmental Management System changes to Local and Corporate leadership and disseminate locally to ensure communications can occur at the site level to fit with locally managed programs

  • Develop and deliver comprehensive reports for compliance tracking and active Environmental Projects for Corporate and local teams

  • Provide coaching and training for Environmental Management System

  • Develop learning experiences for business, sharing best practices, challenges, and cultural themes to improve Environmental performance and compliance

  • Stay up to date on all changes to Environmental programs, to implement any changes required to sustain compliance and improve Environmental Management System where possible

  • Liaise with regulating authorities if/when required

  • Facilitate the Environmental governance program for site and when required at an enterprise level

  • Facilitating and preparing Environmental reports for discussion at executive levels, with direction from the Corporate Environmental Manager

  • Be prepared to lead, engage, and participate in the Environmental Management System Assessments

  • Analyze Environmental compliance needs, incidents, and near miss statistics, jointly with site and Corporate EHSS Team

  • Effectively perform additional duties as assigned

Skills and experience required

  • A degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Engineering or other related technical fields

  • 10+ years of experience within a process-manufacturing environment including leading Environmental teams/ programs

  • Experience with air permitting and implementation of air permits (including Title V Air permits)

  • Experience with RCRA waste regulations, CERCLA. EPCRA (including TRI and Tier II reporting)

  • Experience with change management resulting in reduction of Environmental incidents, a positive compliance culture and leadership/employee involvement in the compliance processes

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools (standard work, 5S, Kaizen and Gemba)

  • Extensive experience with implementation and use of Environmental Digital tools (Gensuite, SAP, etc.)

People driven compliance objectives, excellent analytical, project management, organizational and communication skills, both oral and written, excellent report creator

  • Generating effective presentation consisting of local compliance results and/or analytical findings

  • Must be able to lead by influence, collaborate across business units, and up and down the organizational hierarchy

  • Strong root cause investigation techniques

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

  • Effective problem identification and solution skills

  • Proven analytical and organizational ability

  • Ability to travel within North America up to 50%, as needed

Total RewardsThe annual pay range estimated for this position is $100,855.20 - $126,069.00 and is bonus eligible.

Please note that while this range reflects the full spectrum of compensation available for this role, individual compensation will be determined based on several factors including your experience, skills, and alignment with the role's responsibilities. During the interview process there will be an opportunity to discuss how your background fits into the pay range.
