Inertial Aerospace Services, Inc. (IAS), a subsidiary of HEICO Aerospace, is currently recruiting for a Staff Accountant at our facility in Highland Heights, Ohio.

Requirements

ROLE


Applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports by performing the following duties.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.



  • Following general instructions and with discretion as to work details, performs accounting tasks of a difficult nature requiring an experienced, professional knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Provides specialized or general analysis support in various accounting functions such as Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Cost Accounting, Property Accounting, General Accounting and the like.
  • Interprets accounting data, analyses reports and recommends action to be taken. Prepares difficult journal entries, maintains complex ledgers, reconciles and analyzes specific general ledger and cost account ledgers.
  • Assists in the development and installation of accounting systems, cost accounting methods, procedures and controls. May establish and maintain property accounting records.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.



JOB QUALIFICATIONS


EDUCATION


Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university.



EXPERIENCE


Five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE OR ABILITIES



  • Language: Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
  • Computer Skills: Intermediate computer operations such as file management, use of database and spreadsheet functions, working with MS Windows, and using applications relevant to the work being performed.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to understand and perform general mathematical concepts. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
  • Reasoning Abilities: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
