Position Summary
The Center for Native American Health (CNAH) is seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and team-oriented Native American undergraduate student to join our dedicated outreach and recruitment team. The Program Assistant plays a key role in supporting initiatives related to CNAH's Indians Into Medicine (InMED) program. This position emphasizes data collection, activity coordination, recordkeeping, and spreadsheet development, while also contributing to student recruitment, retention, and outreach efforts. This position also collaborates closely with CNAH's Education and Engagement Manager, as well as the broader CNAH team, to implement strategies, monitor progress, and generate reports.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Collection and Coordination: Assist with data collection activities and coordinate with the InMED evaluation team to ensure efficient data management, including managing social media content as needed.
- Recordkeeping and Spreadsheet Development: Maintain accurate records of program activities and outcomes; develop and manage spreadsheets to track program metrics and progress; generate required reports.
- Scholarly Collaboration: Work with the CNAH-InMED project team on scholarly product development by conducting literature searches/reviews and organizing references. Support dissemination of project findings through the creation of poster presentations, PowerPoint slides, flyers, and handouts.
- Additional Duties: Provide technical and logistical support for CNAH and InMED activities, meetings, and events. Participate in training on Indigenous Evaluations with the CNAH InMED external evaluator. Perform other duties as assigned, which may vary in complexity and required skills.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Enrolled in a federally recognized Tribe, Pueblo, or Nation
- Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience working with or knowledge of, Native American communities
- Existing knowledge of or a strong interest in learning about, student recruitment and development
For consideration as a student employee, the selected candidate must meet the following criteria
- Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student at UNM
- Have a minimum 3.0 GPA and maintain good academic standing
- Must maintain enrollment of a minimum of 6 credit hours.
