Position Summary The laboratory of Dr. Wieland at the Pelotonia Institute for Immuno-Oncology (PIIO) studies the immunological landscape of human papillomavirus-associated head and neck cancer (HNC). Central questions of the lab are which viral antigens are being targeted, which immune cell subsets participate in anti-tumor responses, and how they interact. The lab employs several state-of-the-art techniques to address these questions using predominately patient-derived specimens. In addition, the lab is actively engaged in the production of recombinant proteins and human monoclonal antibodies to support our own work as well as other researchers worldwide. Overall, the work of the lab is aimed to determine how anti-tumor immune responses can be harnessed for improved therapy outcomes of cancer patients. The Wieland Lab is seeking a Research Associate to provide technical support for this research. The Research Associate 1 will perform the following:
Education Bachelor's degree in an appropriate biological/health science or equivalent experience required. Required Qualifications
Additional Information The OSUCCC James is the only cancer program in the United States that features a National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated comprehensive cancer center aligned with a nationally ranked academic medical center and a freestanding cancer hospital on the campus of one of the nations largest public universities. The Wieland Lab is a part of the OSUCCC James Pelotonia Institute for Immuno-Oncology (PIIO). The PIIO is a comprehensive bench-to-bedside research initiative focused on harnessing the bodys immune system to fight cancer at all levels from prevention to treatment and survivorship.
