Nurse Manager - Antepartum/High Risk OB

The Nurse Manager is responsible for the 24/7 operational leadership and clinical oversight of multiple units within Women's Health Services, including Labor & Delivery, High Risk Obstetrics, Antepartum, OB Perioperative Services, and OB/GYN Triage. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care while fostering a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Our team supports over 6,500 births annually and we aim to serve our community as partners in their care with love and excellence.

We are looking for a dynamic leader with proven team-building capabilities, exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, and a strong commitment to patient safety, staff empowerment, and continuous quality improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations across assigned units, ensuring efficient patient flow and resource utilization.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and quality initiatives aligned with hospital standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain compliance and other accreditation standards.
  • Ensure evidence-based nursing care is delivered consistently across all units.
  • Collaborate with physicians, midwives, anesthesiologists, and other departments to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Monitor clinical performance metrics and lead quality improvement initiatives.
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff and support personnel.
  • Promote professional development and continuing education.
  • Foster a compassionate and respectful environment for patients and families.
  • Address patient concerns and ensure service excellence.
  • Participate in budget development and monitor financial performance.
  • Lead initiatives to improve cost-effectiveness and operational efficiency.

Education & Requirements:

  • Current nursing licensure in the State of Delaware or compact state required
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
  • Completed BSN and Master's degree or alternatively, a Bachelor's degree and Masters of Science in Nursing required.
  • 5 years appropriate clinical and leadership experience required.
  • Professional certification in a related nursing specialty required.
  • Nurse Executive certification strongly preferred.
  • BLS certification required.
Annual Compensation Range $121,180.80 - $193,897.60 This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare's good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
