Job Description




As a Security Guard - Armed Government Patrol in Trenton, NJ, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal serving a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, remaining visible to help deter security-related incidents. You will conduct routine patrols, respond to situations as needed, and engage with the public to provide exceptional customer service and clear communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and participating in emergency response activities as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm and problem-solving manner, maintaining a professional demeanor at all times.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the government location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Observe and report any suspicious activities, hazards, or incidents to the appropriate personnel in accordance with established protocols.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement or emergency services when directed, supporting incident resolution and site integrity.
  • Maintain thorough and accurate daily activity reports and logs as required by site policies and Allied Universal procedures.
  • Follow all instructions and assignments provided by Allied Universal management and on-site leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Possess 3 or more years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience or a college degree.
  • Possess an armed guard card or license.
  • Possess a valid New Jersey Retired Police Officer certificate.
  • A state, county, or city issued security-related license is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
