Job Summary


Applies skills as a seasoned, experienced professional to coordinate AV, instructional technology services and delivery of customer service. Maintains a wide variety of media technologies, hardware, and software, including Crestron control systems, codec appliances, integrated cameras, microphones, speakers, lighting, projectors, and other components that make up the AV infrastructure, applying appropriate solutions to non-standard problems. Provides consultative advice to clients on technical, media presentation methods, techniques and equipment and intellectual property issues in instructional and special event settings. Analyzes technical, system, service delivery and / or business processes for efficiency and effectiveness.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $32.09 - $68.87 (Hourly Rate).

Department Description

The Information Technology Services department provides comprehensive technology support to the UCSF, Fresno campus including core system infrastructure, enterprise systems, education technology, medical education support, AV, digital media support services, and the Clinical Skills and Simulation Center.

UCSF Fresno is a regional campus of UCSF's School of Medicine. UCSF Fresno is located in the Central San Joaquin Valley and is administered by the Office of the Associate Dean in Fresno. Programs and affiliations of the UCSF School of Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy and Dentistry are administered by UCSF Fresno. The UCSF Fresno Medical Education Program, offers undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate training programs.

Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
  • Minimum 3+ years of directly relevant experience required
  • Experience providing audiovisual (AV) support for educational sessions, meetings, and special events, including setup, operation, troubleshooting, and coordination of AV systems and equipment
  • Thorough understanding of media production methods and equipment and ability to use this information to troubleshoot the complex systems
  • Knowledge of intellectual property (IP) restrictions and skill to ensure that media meets IP requirements
  • Ability to assess campus or institutional needs for AV IT technology products and design services to meet those needs and provide recommendations
  • Understanding of post-production processes including internet-based media editing and distribution solutions
  • Ability to learn and operate enterprise applications and programs used to manage and support the University's audiovisual and multimedia infrastructure and AV support requests and schedules
  • Demonstrated ability to manage AV support requests schedules and calendars to provide AV support and services in a timely manner
  • Knowledge of computer, media, and networking technology
  • Skills to determine priorities based on knowledge of work area. Self-motivated and works independently and as part of a team. Demonstrates problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work with others from diverse backgrounds. Thorough customer service and consultative skills to identify and provide required audio visual support and implement technology solutions
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization

Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience with Crestron or comparable programing, troubleshooting, and design in conference and meeting room environments
