This position will work a hybrid schedule which includes a combination of working both onsite at Campus and remote.

Business Technology Services, a division of IT Services, provides enterprise solutions and application development for the UC San Diego community. We deliver quality and reliable systems and services that help our campus continuously improve business processes. Our combined technical resources, including web, mainframe, and infrastructure, are the foundation of the applications we develop.

The Operations Management and Capital Programs Information Technology Services (OMCP-ITS), a division of ITS, provides core technology services for UC San Diego. The OMCP Information Technology Services organization provides a full catalog of IT services to the Vice Chancellor - OMCP and each business unit within OMCP, which currently consists of Health & Safety (Community Safety-Police, Environment, Health & Safety); Parking, Commuting and Campus Mobility (Transportation Services, Campus Vehicle Services, Special Events, Triton Transit); Facilities Information Systems Management (Campus GIS & Wayfinding); Plan, Design, Build, Operate and Maintain UC San Diego's Facilities (Campus Planning, Capital Program Management, Project Quality Management);, Policy, Procedures and Records, Sustainability and Strategic Energy Initiatives.

The ISA-4 provides advanced technical and project management support for the ITS OMCP team, which delivers IT services that enable campus wide capital project planning, construction, and facilities operations initiatives. This role is classified with a HEERA (Higher Education Employer Employee Relations Act) designation, giving the incumbent supervisory authority.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervisory Duties: As the Manager of ITS OMCP Strategic Operations, the incumbent will be focused primarily on understanding complex business processes and designing solutions leveraging multiple commercial off-the-shelf, custom-developed solutions, and integrations.

  • Project Coordination: Act as the primary IT liaison for OMCP capital project teams, translating project requirements into technical specifications and ensuring timely delivery of system level deliverables.

  • Technical Integration: Responsible for the administration, configuration, and enhancement of the Maximo enterprise asset management system. This includes designing and implementing workflows, managing system integrations, developing customizations, and ensuring the platform meets the operational needs of over 500 end users located on and off campus. The Manager of ITS OMCP Strategic Operations coordinates, trains, and directs the team in system maintenance, installation, and implementation.

  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate configuration documentation, change control records, and compliance reports for both ITS and OMCP governance bodies.

  • Incident Management: Lead resolution of high impact IT incidents affecting capital project systems, coordinating with UC?SD Service Desk and external vendors.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.

  • Experience in staff supervision including recruitment, training, and delegation of duties, cross-training staff to create a team environment, coaching and goal setting, performance evaluation, and motivate staff to carry out responsibilities with a focus on innovation, quality, customer service and teamwork. Experience evaluating and managing performance. Experience developing staff and addressing staff performance issues in a way that focuses on development and improvement.

  • Demonstrated comprehensive understanding of how system management actions affect other systems, system users and dependent / related functions. Experience in data integration and the specification of data services. Ability to understand and model complex knowledge-intensive processes such as scholarly and research processes.

  • Advanced knowledge of computer security tools, best practices and policies including demonstrated experience securing server-based software. Demonstrated skill at analyzing and preventing security incidents of high complexity. Strong security skills for protecting the operating system, software, data and hardware.

  • Works independently and as part of a team. Demonstrated problem-solving skills. Ability to learn effectively and meet deadlines. Demonstrated skill leading technical teams, including organizing workflow and scheduling assignments. Ability to work independently on complex technical projects as well as on a team of technical professionals and departmental decision-makers. Ability to oversee staff work assignments, arrange coverage during absences, and recommend professional development programs for team members.

  • Ability to configure OMCP systems and commercial application software. Knowledge of Office 365, Outlook, mobile applications, Microsoft Windows Server systems. Ability to configure and support interfaces to departmental and campus administrative systems.

  • Interpersonal skills sufficient to work with both technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization. Ability to elicit and communicate technical and non-technical information in a clear and concise manner.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Employee must be available to work evenings and weekends.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $108,100 - $204,900 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $51.77 - $98.13

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
