Patient Care Technician - Emergency Department-Night

Position Highlights

• Position: Patient Care Technician
• Location: Glenbrook Hospital
• Full-time: 32 hours per week
• Hours: night shift(11pm-7:30am), w/ rotating weekends

What You Will Do

• Perform a variety of patient care activities under the supervision of nursing staff.
• Maintain visual, auditory, and manual attention throughout the shift.
• Utilize manual dexterity for sustained periods of time.
• Assess patients and read/record information accurately in charts.
• Communicate effectively with patients, healthcare team members, and coworkers-often while all parties are masked.
• Work safely in environments that may include exposure to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, chemicals, and other hazards.
• Manage multiple priorities and work under pressure to meet patient care needs.
• Use appropriate patient movement equipment for non-emergency lifts and transfers.
• In urgent situations, may need to assist with lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Wear required PPE, including N95 mask or PAPR, when applicable.
• Perform frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and lifting throughout the shift.

What You Will Need

• Eligibility to work in the U.S.
• Completion of an accredited Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training course preferred.
• Completion of at least one nursing clinical rotation in medical or surgical nursing preferred.
• Current BLS certification for Healthcare Providers through the American Heart Association (must be obtained within 90 days of hire if not current).
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Ability to prioritize and follow through on instructions.
• Basic computer skills.
