Responsibilities

Sr. Network Administrator

Is responsible for mmaintaining a multi-campus environment which requires high performance and complex network infrastructure to maintain its clinical and non-clinical applications on a 24x7 basis. This position is a member of a team that designs, implements, maintains, and manages GWUH's network infrastructure. This position is a member of a team that supports WAN, LAN, WLAN, VPN, and network security and access. This position strives to ensure a reliable, secure and cost-effective IT network infrastructure, with reliable connectivity, secure access to network and its resources, and data storage for all authorized users and devices. This position will be performed in collaboration with the team and independently, participates as technical expert in design, development, configuration, testing and debugging of new network hardware/software or significant enhancements to existing network hardware/software. Participates in the strategic implementation and design of tools and systems vital to the operation of the hospital.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience and proficiency with administration and troubleshooting of a complex multi-campus network.
  • 5+ years of IT experience, including specific experience supporting software defined network architectures
  • Experience in a mid-size to large hospital environment preferred. Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification
  • Cisco CCIE certificate is highly preferred
  • Network security and cybersecurity certifications are highly preferred
  • Hands-on experience with network routing protocols like EIGRP, BGP & OSPF; and switching technologies like Spanning Tree, EtherChannel, Port Security, and 802.1X, etc.
  • Experience in system monitoring technologies i.e. SNMP (i.e. SolarWinds, etc.) to proactively monitor infrastructure environments
  • Experience with application Citrix load-balancing and Citrix Global Server Load Balancing (GSLB)
  • Strong Python programing capabilities, Ansible experience preferred
  • Basic network capabilities (DHCP, ARP, DNS, VLANs etc.); VXLAN and EVPN experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with Cisco Nexus and other routers/switches is required
  • 1x knowledge and experience preferred
  • Experience with network monitoring systems such as Solaris is required
  • Advanced knowledge of network infrastructure components, including Citrix & Net motion VPN, Cisco networking products, and various standard routing protocols (EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, etc.)
  • Advanced technical knowledge of networking and security, such as routing, and SFTP
  • Familiarity with Spine & Leaf architecture
  • Experience with Cisco DNA, ACI, APIC server, ISE, VPC, VDC
  • Familiar with network security principles and standards
  • Knowledge of Citrix application load balancing, QoS, VoIP solutions
  • Knowledge of transmission mediums such as cloud-based Wi-Fi systems, Transparent LAN Services (TLS), fiber optics
  • Experience supporting and maintaining local and wide area networks, including ensuring system availability, securing the network from external threats, and maintaining network servers.
