DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a representative responsible for Early Learning Program Certification, your role involves conducting thorough inspections of child care facilities to evaluate their adherence to established regulations designed to safeguard the health and safety of children in licensed childcare environments. You play a crucial part in investigating complaints regarding potential violations of these regulations, ensuring that any allegations of noncompliance are addressed promptly and effectively. Additionally, you are tasked with probing into claims concerning facilities that may be operating without the necessary legal authorization. Your work requires significant travel across various regions, including urban, suburban, and rural areas within the Commonwealth, allowing you to engage directly with a diverse range of childcare settings. By staying at the forefront of regulatory and policy developments, you contribute to shaping the landscape of early childhood education and care, ultimately benefiting children and families throughout Pennsylvania.

- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
- You may be eligible to be home headquartered after 6 months in the position.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Travel: You must be willing to travel frequently. Travel expenses will be paid.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of professional experience providing direct services to children and youth and a bachelor's degree that includes 24 semester hours of college level courses in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, psychology, or human development; or
- An equivalent combination of professional experience and training, which includes one year of professional experience providing direct services to children and youth and 24 semester hours of college level courses in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, psychology, or human development.
Other Requirements:
- You must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Southeast Region within their first 6 months of employment: Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery or Philadelphia. by the time of hire.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
