Overview

Geosyntec has an opportunity for an as-needed, Part-Time Senior Consultant (up to 20hrs/wk) to support our growing Northeast groundwater group in Acton, MA. The ability to work hybrid or fully remotely from your home-office is at the discretion of the Company. In this position, you will support a variety of complex site investigation and remediation projects and assist our local team with integration and onboarding of new client companies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Assist with planning, budgeting implementing investigation and remediation projects, quality, and client satisfaction;
  • Assist with preparing and/or implementing remediation designs and strategies for soil, sediment, and groundwater remediation projects
  • Assist with mentoring of junior staff;
  • Provide senior technical guidance and direction to mid-level and junior level staff.
  • Assist with work plan development, data evaluation, and technical report writing on a variety of contaminated site assessment, remediation, and operations and maintenance projects;
  • Reviewing written document as part of production;
  • Preparing for and participating in meetings with clients, regulatory personnel, and other parties;
  • At times, job may also include fieldwork including assisting with drilling oversight.
  • Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed.


Education and Licensure

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental, civil or chemical engineering, geology, environmental science, or a related field of study. (required)
  • Advanced degree in a similar field of study. (preferred)
  • Professional certification (i.e., P.E./P.G./LSP) (required)


Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • At least 15 years of direct environmental consulting experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
  • Detailed understanding of soil and groundwater remediation regulations. (required)
  • Extensive experience working with industrial and chemical manufacturing sites
  • Experience with multi-disciplinary project teams. (required)
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed. (required)
  • Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers. (preferred)
  • Fieldwork and overnight travel may be required.
  • Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing may be required.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)

This opportunity will be posted for at least five days. Below are the potential compensation ranges that we in good faith believe are applicable for this role at the time of this posting and are only applicable for jobs to be performed in the specified location(s) below. The typical base salary range for this position is just one component of Geosyntec's total compensation package for employees. Actual compensation will be determined based on education, experience, skill set and location.

  • Minimum: $130.00/hour / Maximum: $170.00/hour (Acton, MA)
