Cleanstar Installation Technician

Job Summary

The Cleanstar Installation Technician is responsible for performing Cleanstar system installations, maintenance and repairs.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

• Responsible for performing Cleanstar system installations and repairs.
• Responsible for assisting in the selection of equipment and listing supplies necessary for the facilities serviced by Darling Ingredients.
• Responsible for assisting in the start-up of installed equipment.
• Responsible for carrying out job duties in a professional and courteous manner.
• Responsible for the upkeep of tools and equipment owned by Darling Ingredients and utilized by oneself or others under his supervision or co-workers.
• Responsible for the installation of electrical hardware or software or the electrical wiring of selected devices in accordance with state and local codes.
• Responsible for the electrical start-ups of new, used or modified equipment and generate new or modify existing operating instructions as it pertains to electrical items.
• Perform calibrations on components when needed.
• Responsible for company issued tools.
• All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Minimum of 6 months or more of prior mechanical experience.
  • Working knowledge of electrical wiring, components and systems preferred.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Working knowledge of PLCs and programming.
• Millwright experience in addition to rendering experience.
• Good general mechanical background.
• Good working relationship with others; team player.
• Good math and computer skills.

Physical Demands

• Occasionally lift up to 100 lbs.
• Frequently twists, tug, pull and stretch.
• Occasional long hours required to complete project.
• Frequent travel required; driving company vehicle full time.
• Frequent projects require completion during equipment change out.
• Frequently walk, sit, reach, bend, kneel, crouch, and stoop.
• Occasionally climb and work above ground up to 50 ft.

Work Environment

Job functions will be carried out indoor and outside in plant environment and/or in personal vehicle as required. Temperature will fluctuate depending on outside conditions. Mechanical and electrical repairs sometimes require being in greasy locations.
