The Compliance and Regulatory Affairs Professional will contribute to maintaining strong institutional controls for the University of Arizona and supporting our mission of holistic student-athlete development.

This position requires the ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, and travel as needed. Ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Maintain strong institutional control by independently applying and interpreting NCAA, Big 12 Conference, and University rules related to initial and continuing eligibility and financial aid.
  • Coordinate and oversee initial and continuing eligibility and financial aid certification processes for all sport programs, exercising professional judgement in complex or non-routine cases.
  • Develop, update, and maintain comprehensive monitoring systems and databases to ensure accuracy, transparency, and institutional accountability.
  • Design, implement, and refine ARMS workflows to integrate multiple athletics department units, streamlining compliance processes and strengthening institutional oversight.
  • Maintain advanced working knowledge of NCAA, Big 12, and University bylaws, interpretations, waivers, and case precedent.
  • Identify, analyze, and evaluate compliance risks related to eligibility and financial aid, recommending mitigation strategies aligned with institutional and regulatory standards.
  • Lead the development, submission, and documentation of NCAA waivers and interpretations involving initial and continuing eligibility or financial aid.
  • Analyze compliance data to identify trends, emerging risks, and areas for process improvement.
  • Prepare comprehensive incident reports and support the implementation of corrective actions in coordination with senior compliance leadership.
  • Provide expert interpretations and guidance to coaches, administrators, and staff regarding eligibility and financial aid regulations, requiring significant explanation and regulatory analysis.
  • Serve as a departmental resource for eligibility and financial aid compliance matters, advising units on regulatory requirements and best practices.
  • Develop and deliver department-wide rules education initiatives, including presentations and training materials for coaches, staff, and student-athletes across multiple platforms.
  • Collaborate with campus partners and athletics stakeholders to ensure consistent understanding and application of compliance standards.
  • Administer and coordinate assigned compliance programs and projects with limited supervision, ensuring alignment with department and institutional objectives.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of compliance policies and procedures that support evolving NCAA, conference, and institutional requirements.
  • Utilize university systems and departmental tools with proficiency to support monitoring, reporting, and compliance operations.
  • Provide input into department initiatives, workflow improvements, and strategic compliance planning.
  • Budget accountability.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through experience required.
  • Three years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree, such as a Master's or Juris Doctor.
  • Three years of experience working in an NCAA compliance environment.
  • Experience with NCAA Compliance Assistance Software.
  • Experience using ARMS software.
  • Previous responsibilities associated with Bylaw 14 or 15.
