This role requires a strong educational foundation-typically a full high school education plus two years of post-secondary education in a business-related field-and four years of related business or administrative experience to become familiar with general personnel practices, accounting and budgeting principles, and coordination of major office activities. OR any other equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience. Degrees, licensures, and certifications that demonstrate your ability to thrive in a dynamic administrative environment are highly valued.

The Global Administrative Assistant plays a key role in advancing Duke's global mission by providing comprehensive administrative and project management support to senior leadership and cross-functional teams. You will help coordinate high-visibility events, manage complex schedules across time zones, and ensure seamless operations for global initiatives.

What You'll Do:

  • Oversee strategic calendar management for senior leadership involved in global activities.
  • Coordinate travel and expense management for leadership.
  • Organize and manage high-profile meetings and committees, handling all logistics.
  • Screen and route sensitive correspondence with discretion and confidentiality.
  • Support global committees and working groups through scheduling, documentation, and collaboration.
  • Manage internal and external agreements, including MOUs.
  • Assist with special projects, workshops, and conferences, ensuring timely execution.
  • Coordinate logistics for international visitors and delegations.
  • Provide end-to-end support for in-person, hybrid, and virtual events.
  • Manage day-to-day office operations and liaise with other Duke offices.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Anticipated Pay Range
Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $44,766.00 to USD $71,706.00. Duke University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position; candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills; internal peer equity; as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
