Grader Operator

Florida Crystals is a leading domestic sugar producer and North America's first fully integrated cane sugar company, guiding our sugar from farm to table. We are America's first and only producer of certified organic sugar, grown and harvested in the United States. Our renewable energy facility is the largest of its kind in North America and provides clean energy that powers our sugar operations, which helps us reduce our use of fossil fuels. Florida Crystals also sustainably farms rice, sweet corn and other vegetables in rotation with our sugarcane. Our rice mill is the only rice mill in Florida.

OVERVIEW

The Grader Operator for agriculture is responsible for operating and maintaining motor graders and related equipment to prepare land for agricultural purposes. This role is crucial in ensuring that fields, access roads, and drainage systems are properly graded to support optimal crop production and farm operations. The operator works closely with farm management and other equipment operators to achieve efficient land preparation and maintenance.

ESSENTIAL CAPABILITIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES)

• Operate motor graders and other grading equipment to level and shape agricultural land, access roads, and ditches.
• Interpret and follow grading plans, field maps, and verbal or written instructions from farm management.
• Monitor grading progress and make adjustments to achieve precise land contours suitable for planting, irrigation, and drainage.
• Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on grading equipment, reporting any issues or malfunctions.
• Collaborate with other machine operators, farm workers, and supervisors to coordinate grading activities.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and environmental regulations during grading operations.
• Keep accurate records of work performed, equipment usage, and maintenance activities.
• Assist in other farm-related tasks as needed, including road repairs and field preparation.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Valid driving license
• Pass Background check
• Pass Physical and drug test
• Proven experience operating motor graders or similar heavy equipment, ideally in an agricultural or rural setting
