As our organization expands through organic growth and shared services, we are seeking a visionary AP & Tax Leader. This role is designed for a high-achieving professional who thrives on building "best-in-class" departments through technology and rigorous controls. The ideal candidate is a "player-coach"-equally comfortable setting long-term strategy, managing complex sales tax compliance, and rolling up their sleeves to support the team. You will be the bridge between Finance and Operations, ensuring a high level of service while professionally navigating the challenges of policy enforcement and organizational change.

Strategic AP Leadership & Technology

Best-in-Class Operations: Drive the evolution of the AP department by leveraging Concur and other emerging technologies to automate workflows and enhance reporting.

  • Process Integrity: Act as the primary gatekeeper for organizational policies, professionally managing conflicts and enforcing compliance with poise and firmness.

Tax Compliance & Continuous Learning

  • Technical Authority: Lead the administration of the Taxport system; oversee international tax withholdings and act as the subject matter expert for 1099 and 1042 filings.
  • Multi-State Nexus: Manage Sales and Use tax filings across New York, Florida, and California, ensuring the organization stays ahead of changing regulations.
  • Audit Management: Proactively support annual audit, as needed and manage other tax audits if they arise.
  • Knowledge Growth: Dedicate time to staying current on your areas of responsibilityresponsiblity.

General Accounting & Treasury

  • Financial Rigor: Oversee month-end reconciliations (Amex BTA, EP3) and provide support for accruals and general ledger functions.
  • Treasury Oversight: Serve as Joint System Administrator for JP Morgan Access; manage wire releases and credit card program adherence to ensure strict segregation of duties.

The US Open Experience

  • Tournament Support: Take an active, hands-on role during the US Open, this may include direct financial interaction with professional players in the Purser's Office and managing real-time payment cycles in a fast-paced environment.
Who You Are
  • Bachelor's Degree: Required in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Leadership Depth: 7-10 years of progressive experience in Accounts Payable or Corporate Accounting, with at least 3-5 years in a supervisory or management capacity.
  • Tax Expertise: Experience filing Sales and Use Tax (specifically NY, FL, and CA) and preferred familiarity with 1099/1042-S reporting.
  • CPA designation preferred.
  • Solid understanding of accounting regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, and familiarity with windows-based accounting software.
  • Highly meticulous with excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and capacity to lead multiple tasks effectively.
  • Exceptional communication and social skills to cultivate team collaboration and engage with external stakeholders (e.g., auditors, government agencies).
  • High level of integrity and accountability.
  • Proven ability to oversee and empower payroll and administrative teams, fostering a positive and efficient work environment.
  • Capable of handling audits, responding to government inquiries, and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
