Description
The LVN in the Endoscopy Unit provides direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and in accordance with the primary nursing model. This role ensures safe, efficient, and high-quality care for patients undergoing endoscopic procedures while adhering to all University, Hospital, and Departmental policies, procedures, and guidelines. Key Responsibilities: * Assist with patient preparation and recovery for endoscopic procedures. * Monitor and document patient vital signs and status throughout the care process. * Prepare, clean, and sterilize endoscopic instruments and equipment according to infection control standards. * Support physicians and RNs during procedures by anticipating needs and ensuring smooth workflow. * Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with regulatory and departmental standards. * Ensure adherence to established protocols for patient safety and infection prevention. * Collaborate effectively within the primary nursing model to deliver coordinated care. * Provide patient education and discharge instructions as directed by the RN or physician. * Uphold University, Hospital, and Departmental policies, procedures, and guidelines at all times. Qualifications
Qualifications: * Current LVN license in the state of California. * BLS certification required * Experience in endoscopy or procedural care setting strongly preferred. * Knowledge of infection control practices and sterile technique. * Strong communication and teamwork skills. 1. Knowledge of basic computer fundamentals 2. Ability to speak clearly and distinctly using appropriate English vocabulary and grammar 3. Ability to understand oral and written directives 4. Ability to read and write Standard English text 5. Ability to perform basic arithmetic computations (add, subtract, multiply, and divide) 6. Demonstrates an understanding of medical terminology and abbreviations 7. Ability to organize and prioritized work to complete assignments in a timely manner New Hire: LVN- New Grad IV and Phlebotomy Certification required within 6 months of hire SR.
