Building and Ground Maintenance

Job Profile:
Bongards is looking for a dynamic, responsible and skilled individual to join our team at our Humboldt Location as a Building and Grounds maintenance employee. This individual should be skilled in groundskeeping and multiple building trades in order to maintain, repair buildings, equipment and facilities operated by Bongards Creameries.

Job Duties:

• Performs skilled work in multiple trades in order to maintain buildings and equipment at Bongards Creameries Humboldt location.
• Works in accordance with verbal, written instructions and works with supervisor or designee to prioritize assigned work requests;
• Diagnoses, repairs, installs and maintains a variety of equipment and fixtures requiring carpentry, plumbing, and other trades' skills;
• Performs repairs such as replacing broken pipes, cleaning plugged drains, flushing sewer lines, replacing faucets, washers or gaskets and perform preventative maintenance on fire sprinkler system.
• Assembles and repairs office furniture, file cabinets and other miscellaneous equipment.
• Replaces door hinges, windows, locks and thresholds;
• Determines needed supplies and materials to complete work orders/projects and estimates cost of materials;
• Cut and install window glass; operate hand and power tools; locate and repair roof leaks;
• Performs grounds-keeping duties such as trimming of grass, trees and shrubs
• Maintains detailed log of work completed, materials used, time spent, etc.;
• Cleans, maintains, and repairs tools and equipment used in maintenance and operations;
• Operate machinery to remove snow, grade roads, parking areas and maintain all associated roads on the property.
• Perform maintenance on wells and well houses, provide assistance to the Waste Water Operator as required.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

Other requirements:

• Must have previous Building and Ground maintenance experience at a large manufacturing site.
• Must demonstrate excellent math, reading, communication skills.
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Knowledge of LOTO procedures
• Electrical experience with DC, AC (up to 480V 3 phase) highly desired
• Must be able to read and follow written instructions.
• Able to work independently
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines
• Must adhere to and follow all Safety, GMP, and other quality guidelines.

Physical Capabilities:

• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. occasionally
• May spend long periods of time standing.
• Must be able to work outside in the elements year-round.
