Job Description:

Director of Enterprise Engineering Software

We are seeking a visionary and technically accomplished Enterprise Software Leader to lead our Software and Design Intelligence Team. In this role, you will push the boundaries of design by enabling best-in-class software tools, latest AI and Machine Learning capabilities and a robust process for defining, developing and releasing world-class automation capabilities. You will work with both internal and external focus to drive business success for Skyworks. Internally, you will partner with engineering leaders across the business units and central functions to define, design, develop and operationalize best-in-class tools, machine-learning models and enterprise software methodologies across design, tape-out, mask-assembly, packaging and test. Externally, you will pioneer the flow for designing and delivering consistent, secure and responsive customer-facing software. This is a high-impact leadership position reporting to the Sr. Director of EDA Engineering, with a mandate to institute robust software processes across the enterprise and grow a world-class team.

Responsibilities

  • Create an enterprise-wide framework of robust product development with modern software engineering practices for creating, verifying and releasing EDA artifacts. Hold the team to a higher standard so EDA can truly push the boundaries of design.
  • Lead the research in AI and Machine Learning both externally and internally to identify and design solutions for the most challenging Silicon and Filter design problems to drive productivity and ROI improvement.
  • Pioneer and systematize a standard in continuous integration, security, user-experience and release for designing, developing and hosting customer-facing software with tools, flows and automation.
  • Provide strong leadership, technical guidance and mentorship to the Software and Design Intelligence team. Promote a culture of collaboration and growth by being a force multiplier.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Design, Packaging, Test, Firmware and Manufacturing teams as well as with IT, Quality and NPI.

Required Experience and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • 15+ years of experience in enterprise software development with focus on semiconductor design, verification and test, in both individual contributor and leadership role.
  • Proven experience designing and operating large-scale onprem enterprise platforms: serviceoriented architectures, robust APIs, eventdriven workflows, and data pipelines across data centers and private networks.
  • Semiconductor EDA Domain Expertise, specifically in Analog/Mixed-signal/RF domains, including experience in developing enterprise class EDA solutions, internal or commercial
  • Strong experience with all aspects of MLOps, including data ingestion, training pipelines, fine tuning, vector databases etc.
  • Ability to build and operationalize ML models on design/test/data (experiment tracking, feature pipelines, deployment, monitoring) and embed AI into design workflows.
  • Strong grounding in cloud infrastructure such as Kubernetes, Docker and experience with Azure, GCP or AWS
  • Mastery of SDLC, CI/CD, change management, and release governance across the enterprise.
  • Experience in defining and developing standards for customer-facing software, including UI/UX and accessibility guidelines, security scanning, on-prem or DMZ hosting, license management
  • Vision setting and crossfunctional alignment with BU engineering and central functions; roadmap and KPI ownership.

Desired Experience and Skills

Any prior experience with customer facing software design, including UI/UX aspects, release and support will be considered a plus. Along the same lines, any experience of working with external facing organizations such as Sales, Marketing and Modeling teams will also be considered a plus.


The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $170,100 - $339,500 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different base pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S. Benefits include access to healthcare benefits (including a premium-free medical plan option), a 401(k) plan and company match, an employee stock purchase plan, paid time off (including vacation, sick/wellness, parental leave), among others.
