As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will conduct routine foot patrols, remain highly visible, and help to deter incidents by identifying and reporting suspicious activity and/or hazards. You will support access control, respond to incidents, and document security-related events with clear, professional communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government transportation location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating with site personnel and/or public agency partners as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of stations, platforms, entrances, mezzanines, stairwells, elevators and/or surrounding perimeter areas as assigned.
  • Observe and report suspicious activity, unauthorized access and/or policy violations to help to deter prohibited conduct and support orderly operations.
  • Assist with access control by monitoring doors, gates and restricted areas, checking credentials when required and directing visitors and contractors to the proper check-in process.
  • Provide visible presence and customer assistance by offering directions, answering general questions and helping manage lines and/or crowd flow when requested.
  • Complete patrol logs, incident reports and daily activity documentation using required paper and/or electronic systems.
  • Support emergency and service disruptions by following post orders, assisting with area notifications and helping guide members of the public to designated locations as directed.
  • Operate communications equipment such as radios and/or phones to relay accurate information and request assistance when needed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • - Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
  • - At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
  • - Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • - Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • - As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • - Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • - As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • - Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • - A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
