Join Allied Universal at a government location as an Armed Patrol Officer, conducting routine patrols, maintaining a visible presence, and responding to security-related concerns with calm, clear communication. You will support access control, document activities, and assist staff and visitors with customer-focused service while working as part of a team that values integrity, reliability, and innovation. This post requires an Armed Guard Card and/or license.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to staff and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter points; working environments and conditions may vary by assignment.
  • Maintain a high level of situational awareness to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations; address observed issues using a calm, service-oriented approach.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, using de-escalation techniques and summoning additional assistance as needed.
  • Control access at designated entry points by screening visitors, verifying identification and/or credentials, and directing individuals according to site procedures.
  • Carry, handle, and store assigned weapon and related equipment in accordance with Allied Universal guidelines, post orders, and applicable laws; complete required checks and documentation.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, and/or other security-related systems when assigned, and take appropriate action based on site procedures.
  • Document patrol activity, incidents, and observations in written reports and/or electronic systems; provide clear, accurate information to site contacts.
  • Coordinate with site management and local public agencies when required, preserving scene conditions for responding personnel and supporting follow-up actions.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have 3+ years' combined law enforcement/military/security experience OR a college degree.
  • Have an armed guard card/license.
  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
  • Have customer service experience preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
