As a Security Officer - Logistics Yard Patrol in Summerville, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will support access control, communicate clearly with team members and site personnel, and provide strong customer service while using site technology as needed. Why Join Us: What You'll Do: - Provide customer service to clients at a logistics and distribution location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including supporting de-escalation and requesting additional assistance when needed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of warehouse areas, loading docks, yard spaces, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity.
- Monitor access points for employees, visitors, and drivers, following site procedures for arrivals, departures, and routing to designated areas.
- Observe and report unusual conditions such as doors left unsecured, unauthorized persons in restricted areas, damaged fencing, or suspicious vehicles, and communicate findings per site protocol.
- Complete detailed shift activity logs and incident reports, including documenting observations, actions taken, and notifications made.
- Coordinate with site leadership and responding public services during alarms, medical situations, fire-related events, or other emergencies as directed by post orders.
- Support traffic flow and pedestrian awareness near dock doors and yard lanes when assigned, helping to reduce congestion and support orderly movement.
- Use required systems such as radios, phones, and site technology for communication, dispatch coordination, and documentation, following site guidelines.
- Participate in site orientations, post briefings, and required training, and follow Allied Universal and site policies while on duty.
Minimum Requirements: - - Be 21+ years of age.
- - Customer service experience is preferred.
- - Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
- - Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- - Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- - Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- - As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
